Interesting Facts:
Yassamin Ansari is the youngest woman and the first Iranian American Democrat elected to the U.S. Congress. She represents Arizona’s 3rd Congressional District and currently serves on the Natural Resources and Oversight Committees. Before joining Congress, Ansari was a rising leader in climate and international policy and went on to serve as Vice Mayor of Phoenix. She is also a former PAAIA NexGen and Emerging Leader, and has introduced a resolution recognizing March as Iranian American Heritage Month.
