Susan Amini, a dedicated lawyer who has spent years helping the disadvantaged, is currently a candidate for the position of Superior Court Position 1 in King County (Seattle), Washington State. Amini is seeking the court seat being vacated by Judge Charles Mertel.

Born in Iran, Amini was educated at Catholic schools in Tehran and Paris. She received her bachelor's degree from Tehran University and J.D. degree from the University of Maryland School of Law.

As a lawyer, Amini has over 17 years of trial experience at all levels of courts in King County. Her practice includes family law, immigration, criminal defense, and personal injury. She has represented a wide range of clients- from victims of domestic violence and child abuse to at-risk elderly and business owners. In 1994, Amini was sworn in as Judge Pro Tempore, and has since served in that capacity as needed throughout King County.

Amini has been given a rating of "Well-Qualified" for the position of Superior Court Judge by the King County Bar Association. The rating was approved by the Bar Associations' Judicial Screening Committee. She has also been rated "Exceptionally Well-Qualified" by the Latina/o Bar Association of Washington. This rating was recommended by the LBAW Judicial Evaluations Committee and approved by the Board of Directors.

A strong believer in public service, Amini has enjoyed serving the community as a Trustee of the Overlake Hospital Foundation and as a Commissioner on the City of Bellevue’s Human Services Commission. She is a member of the Bellevue Breakfast Rotary Club and member of the City of Bellevue’s Probation Advisory Council.

Amini’s campaign has been endorsed by numerous serving and retired Judges as well as other public officials and attorneys.
