Iranian American Political Action Committee (IAPAC)

John Campbell
U.S. House of Representative (R-48th/CA)

"I would like to personally thank IAPAC for your generous support of my campaign and for all your endeavors advocating on behalf of Iranian Americans in my district and across our nation. I truly appreciate IAPAC’s outreach and hope to continue benefiting from your issue and cultural education efforts. I look forward to the day we can both celebrate the establishment of a free and democratic Iran."

Congressman John Campbell is a fourth generation Californian who has lived in Irvine for over 26 years. First elected to Congress in a December of 2005 special election, he brings to Washington over a quarter century of experience in the business world and a record of accomplishment in both chambers of the California Legislature.

Campbell was elected to the California Assembly in 2000 and the California Senate in 2004. While in the legislature he quickly earned a reputation as a leading voice for fiscal responsibility and worked to improve personal privacy protections. He also championed the clean up of urban runoff in Orange County, a cause he continues to work for in Congress.

Campbell represents California’s 48th Congressional District, which encompasses Newport Beach, Irvine, Laguna Beach, Laguna Hills, and Santa Ana.   According to the 2000 Census report, the 48th District in California has the second largest Iranian American population in the nation.   He currently serves on the House Financial Service, Budget, and Veteran Affairs committees. Additionally, Campbell is a member of the House Republican Study Committee, the most prominent and influential caucus of fiscal and social conservatives serving in the House of Representatives.

Congressman Campbell is an original cosponsor of House Resolution 476 condemning discrimination and bigotry against Iranian Americans. The resolution acknowledges the diversity of the Iranian American community and their contributions to the social and economic fabric of American society.
