Dr. Houri Khalilian is a patent attorney admitted to practice before the State and Federal Courts of Maryland and Washington, D.C., the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the United States Patent and Trademark Office. She has represented clients in the fields of biotechnology and pharmaceuticals for 20+ years in US and internationally. Khalilian entered the practice of law in 1994 when she started working for the high profile Law Firms in Washington, D.C. which she continued for 10 years before starting her own IP Law Firm in 2004. Before entering the field of law, Khalilian was a Senior Research Scientist at Yale University, Department of Internal Medicine.
She received her Ph.D. from the University of Sussex, England, in the field of Cell and Molecular Biology, and has published more than 22 scientific and legal articles in peer-reviewed journals and book chapters, internationally. Khalilian is a zealous advocate for promoting the legal, political and societal interests of Iranian Americans in U.S. She is a Co-Founder of and Advisory Board Member of IABA, a Co-Founder of Potomac Lions Club, and active member of IAPAC, and IAW.
