Dallas Morning News Recommends Amir Omar
Washington, DC With less than a month to go before the primary elections, Amir Omar’s candidacy for U.S. House of Representatives continues to gain momentum with new endorsements and a recommendation by the Dallas Morning News, the 10th largest newspaper in the country.
On February 5th the Dallas Morning News Editorial Board announced its recommendations for the 2006 primary elections. The Board recommended Amir Omar as the best GOP candidate to take on incumbent Democrat Eddie Bernice Johnson in the general election. “Mr. Omar displays a broader interest and understanding of issues. We respect his desire to work as a ‘citizen congressman’ – especially on economic development issues that could transform the district,” said the Dallas Morning News.
A successful entrepreneur and business owner, Omar recently declared his candidacy for the 30th Congressional District of Texas. If elected, Omar will be the first Republican to represent District 30 as well as the first American of Iranian descent to serve in the U.S. Congress.
